Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by various methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. In addition there are many items that can be reforged, which could increase their stats.
Upgradeable items are available throughout the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others provide general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools, and provide various benefits, from increasing the speed of the item's collection to supplying additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any materials or components required. The Upgrade button at the bottom will read Blocked if you don't have enough of either.
The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components required for an item. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced through various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.
Many weapons can be improved with a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be upgraded by adding an suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the item's name like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
Each glyph comes with a range of values that it could improve a stat by according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the highest value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it will actually increase it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're enchanting it to.
Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from a piece of you must save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is helpful for players who suffer many hits from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained in a variety of ways like mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle these rerolled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items to be selected for recycling. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolling is a great way to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is reduced by the number the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This reduction effect is most effective with Diadems and rings that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
The system of rerolls has been criticised by players as being too expensive and it's more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items that would allow them to change their build without a lot of time and effort. The developers aren't planning to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to level up an item upgrade . The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This boosts the value of an upgrade for a stat. The second option is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for the stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. After this, the new item will maintain its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In most cases the chance of a better roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also opportunities for higher or more special rolls. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item which means that when you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique type you has a chance to get an iLevel that is higher.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it offers. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're fortunate, your upgraded item may get to the top of its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
Based on the item's level of base and upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will change too. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary item is likely to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
