World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and can give it additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link safe from harm in most situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in various ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect animals or people from physical harm or injury whether from physical assault or from a range of dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, the majority of armour was made of fabrics or leather, however metal protections were also used, especially for military applications such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons there are a myriad of ways that armour can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades available and more will provide higher levels of protection, and needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. You should only apply most advanced upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have the materials needed to complete them.
You can find the upgrades you need in many places throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are typically marked by the blue triangle or gold circle symbol. They are found in huge numbers as you progress. They can appear randomly, however there is a chance that getting certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.
It's important to keep in mind that, although the level that upgrades offer may differ, it will always be more than nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a high-defense boost that will protect against any kind of attack, except magic. This makes it a formidable weapon for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades to make them truly unique. These can increase damage, change the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your build or even unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should also be at a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.
Weapon upgrade components are available scattered throughout the world, from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. item upgrades are a mix of ingredients that you are able to put into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used for enhancing the stats of the base weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. They can be obtained from enemies that are dropped into the open world, purchased from a few merchants, or obtained from combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
It's crucial to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, followed by those you won't be replacing in the near future. If you're playing in a melee-based build, for instance upgrade your weapon, then your shoulders and chest before your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. But, depending on your style of play, certain specific items are more useful than others. Armour is not any different, with some reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic. If an upgrade project has been cancelled, no more upgrades will be planned for the item. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the amount of gold they normally cost to create or buy however, they also have extra benefits.
A magical item is an item that has special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they can also be armors, shields, cloaks and potions. They can also be scrolls, rings or other items. Some of these items have a sense of being.
Many magic items can have their abilities enhanced. This makes them more useful to a player, or it can aid them in overcoming a particularly challenging encounter. Infused weapons can offer bonuses to damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is especially useful for characters who have reached the level where they are likely to encounter a particular kind of monster over and over again in Dungeons.
A ring that is infused with magic might provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character is given a second rest. This is particularly useful for melee fighters or anyone who wants to avoid purchasing an armor.
Some enchanted items have special powers that let the character cast spells in addition to the ones on their class's list of spells. This is useful for a character who has difficulties filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted items typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling a table that is based on the number Intelligence points used.
Other enchanted objects might allow the player's appearance to be changed, or they could even create a brand new one. These can be particularly useful for characters who have had to leave their homes, or are in a place where they may not be accepted. A magical item could give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible to anyone, excluding the person they choose to.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that do not fit into the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons, and provide various capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items have a passive effect that players can activate by using them. However, some of them have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button, or by activating a skill.
The Flashlight is the most commonly used utilitarian item. It lights up the area around it. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. Several useful items can be immediately manufactured in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can also obtain some more useful items of utility by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items are upgradeable to make them more effective.
The majority of utility items give players an advantage in navigation or enhance a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, created by the Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, crafted by the Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other utility items can be utilized by players to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available after the completion of certain engineering, research, or experiments on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be added by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This allows the player to make use of the Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
