World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of the base. While this is usually an excellent thing, it can have some negative consequences too. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. In the case of chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain when upgraded and their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will reroll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you can get from every point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and have completed the fountain in question, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to the potions.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a crafting table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade item upgrading , right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade in the event that you use it again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions for instance are now available with a time of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same applies to using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the potion and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the' effect is extended by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a function but is not particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. A player can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
