Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also boost its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of item names. For instance, adding a Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
If an item is leveled out in this way, it is capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will result in lower chances of success.
Engineers may utilize a level to compare the height of the building to an established location, such as a benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.
In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also includes number sets that give an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is a great way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and attain higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can have various sizes, have no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have a lot of armor or weapons already.
Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own unique functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to parity with their counterparts in their tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their performance. item upgrades will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
